That's mesh fencing. And yep, it works fine. As long as I don't leave one tiny little space for a tiny little deer head to poke through. My first fencing was kind of casual...no "lid." Deer just dipped their heads over the top and snapped off a lot of tomato flowers. Bastards.
When they eat your tomatoes they are definitely bastards. When they're behaving themselves in the woods where they're supposed be? Cute little buggers.
