It IS a depressing picture, isn't it? But I think it captures the backstage reality of a band tour. Becca says that Lyle is bone-tired, and god does it show. Three bands are traveling together (Lyle's band + two other 'couples bands' -- as in male/female couples who play together and tour). One of the couples is either just out of rehab or Scientologists or both. Some of them jog every morning before they hit the road, and one member scopes out, in advance, where to find the Whole Foods for each city they go to. Sounds almost wholesome. Such a contrast to Greg's cross-country band tour a couple of yrs ago: four farting guys in a van eating fast food and getting paid in beer & pizza some nights. But you don't do tours for money. Not at this level. And from the look on Lyle's face you don't tour for fun either. But musicians have a whole other thing going on.
