That wall is hard to describe. It's attached to the lower wall of my living room. See those green plants and book cases near the top of the picture? They are on the living room floor.
Right behind the window, where the kitties are sitting, is a stairway going down to the family room. As you go down the stairs the white wall is on your right. The wall ends soon and you can see into the family room, which, when you reach the bottom of the stairs, you are standing in. The family room is directly under the living room.
I think that may have been a terrible explanation.
