Welcome Norah Eve! Born today--just before this shot. With Anabelle, happy and relieved Mother Sarah, and George.

Dad, Kevin, must have taken the picture since it was just the four of them... and then suddenly Sarah was holding the fifth of them. Am I proud of my niece Sarah? You betcha!

Thanks cyberfriends! Yes, these folks are definitely my family (Sarah is my sister Kathy's daughter) and yes, Norah was born at home, as were both George and Anabelle. The midwives visited Sarah yesterday, hoping to get that baby born before the "paralyzing snow" arrived. But they left because Sarah was still only 5 cm dilated. Not long after they left, she had some contractions, which she's been having off and on for weeks, she walked into her bathroom, her water broke, and out popped Norah. Proud Papa Kevin walked into the bathroom and said "looks like your water just broke," and Sarah turned to him holding Baby Norah! The midwives were called back but Sarah and Kevin delivered that baby themselves. New babies are the best thing life has to offer, IMHO.
