Roasted tomatoes and pasta. With rosemary.

Good! but next time I plan to either finely chop up the rosemary or use very young, tender rosemary leaves. My rosemary plants are old and huge and robust, but that means, apparently, tough leaves.

We lived here from 1978 through 1986. Nice small house with big kitchen. Detached garage, and a chicken coop! This is the coop today (picture taken from a moving car). Boy oh boy what I wouldn't give for that coop today.

I read somewhere that jalepeno peppers aren't all that hot if you just carefully remove the seeds and ALL the membrane. I sauted up a bunch, along with a pork veggie sausage from the Dutch Amish Market, and it was good, not too hot but with a bite.

My mystery plant (see a few pictures below, posted yesterday) is a type of beautyberry. I think I have two types of beautyberry. Leaves are smaller, lighter in one of the plants (the one the deer don't eat). They like the one with larger, darker leaves.

Jalepenos. They love my soil.

Beefsteaks! But still small.

what IS this plant? I can't find the tag and the deer keep eating the new growth so I haven't seen any flowers.

Produced by my nice quiet worms who only ask for a few banana peels and some left-over coffee grounds a week.

Harvestimg sunflower seeds. The goldfinches love them!

This poor soul got trapped under the deer netting, but he finally got out with only a little help from me. They always get out. Just like the chipmunks, which I've seen climb to the very top of a tall sunflower plant, 3 ft or so, and nibble on the seeds.

Evidence that the beavers are still living in the pond.

Plants that deer eat so I might as well give up trying to grow them.

I guess these are tiny little beefsteak tomatoes. Next to the huge, and now consumed, Kellogg's.
