The crust was fully cooked and coated the entire inside of the jar. (I should have taken a picture while I was taking it out of the jar but I didn't -- next time.) The top crust pops out. Then you remove the rest of the crust in chunks while you're scooping out the baked apples in the middle of the jar. It's a small pie. I'm not sure how the baker cooked the crust inside that jar -- can you safely use a Mason jar in an oven?

Might I suggest a nice salad?
It looks interesting indeed! (and easy)
What a great idea. Is there a crust, or do you make your own?
