Clarence.

Clarence is now about 5 and 1/2 months old. To describe his wonderfulness would take pages and pages. Let's just say that he's as close to perfection as kitties come. He's very hard to photograph. Looks like an ad for Nivea doesn't it?

Could we trade black cats? My daughter's Mari is a Demon Cat and hates me.

Uh.. no, but thanks. I just heard about the "slow blink" strategy with cats. Something about looking them in the eye, holding their attention, and then slowly, slowly blinking once. Hold the stare and then slowly, slowly blink again. It's supposed to be a sign to the cat that says "I love you." And when a cat does one of those slow blinks at you, he's saying "I love you." That's what I heard on NPR on their Saturday animal show. Who knows if it's true? I had a hard time making my cats keep eye contact. Except for Clarence of course. Because of that perfection thing he's got going.

Maybe you should get a kitten. Then when Demon Cat comes to visit he'll (she'll? can't remember) know that it's not his/her turf. [Just typing, not really thinking this through...]

You can have the Maryland prize for purrfect kitties. I've got two in the running for Virginia. Wayne and Garth are so much fun!

Our cat, Arnold is all black as well. We got him from a family in Baltimore who were moving and couldn't keep him. He is the best cat ever.
