My dad was George and it always seems right to name humans and kittens after him--so my niece named her little boy George and now there's a Georgette kitten. Man oh man did my dad love babies, toddlers, and kittens. Basically he loved anyone who couldn't have an argument with him. And Lucy...well, she just looks like a Lucy. And here's an embarrassing admission: when we use her name we use the tone of voice from a one-time character on Seinfeld. A mannequin designer who meets Elaine on the subway. He also was a great student of the TV Guide and when he talks about all the Lucy shows on TV -- I Love Lucy, Here's Lucy, etc -- he uses a particular tone that we now mimic. A very long "U" essentially. Blogs are for embarrassing confessions, right?

They're darling. Is there a story or some insight you can supply about the names you chose?
